Waacking
Waacking is an underground social dance that was created by the LGBT community in Los Angeles.
Waacking started in the 70’s with the rise of Disco music with dancers punking and dancing often to the instrumental breaks of the disco tracks in the clubs. The style then appeared on shows such as Soul Train and American Bandstand.
The style saw a resurgence in the 2000’s and has been popularised now by dance competitions and notable figures such as Princess Lockerooo, Ibuki, Lip J and more.
This class focuses on drills, technique, posing, expressing & catching music. We also focus on bringing out the freedom and individuality in your own dance and celebrating the culture that this dance came from.
