Krump
KRUMP is a dance style created by Cesare Laron Willis aka Tight Eyex and Jo’Artis Ratti aka Mijo. It’s birthplace is the streets of South Central, Los Angeles and it originated in the early 2000’s.
The aggressive movements you see in KRUMP were heavily influenced by the feelings that were developed by being exposed to an environment filled with gang activity, violence and crime. KRUMP was used as a way to express these feelings through dance and avoid falling victim to their environment.
Since then KRUMP has evolved into a dance style that is recognized internationally. The style is now used not only as a way of expression, but it is now seen in battles, tournaments, choreography, theatre, tv and more.
In class you will learn KRUMP Foundation and Techniques, as well as education in KRUMP history and culture. The goal is for the students to be able to put their learning into practice by being able to express themselves freely in KRUMP freestyle.
